All you need is 4 ingredients, and a food processor.
1 cup pecans
1 cup Medjool dates (pitted)
3 tablespoons raw Cacao powder (or nibs)
2 scoops of Chocolate-flavored protein powder (I recommend Juice Plus+ Complete)
Blend the pecans in the food processor to a large crumb mixture. Then add dates and blend again. Finally, add the Cacao and protein powder and blend to the desired consistency. You can make them smooth, like the ones pictured here, or more chunky.
I also like to cut them into bars and wrap individually to take to tennis matches, the gym, or keep in my car/purse on busy on-the-go days. They are a healthier and better tasting substitute for the store-bought protein bars. Plus, how cool is it to make your own protein bars?
Try them and let me know what you think!
